The VisMederi Foundation is pleased to announce its support for the “Farmaco Sospeso” project, promoted by the Arciconfraternita di Misericordia of Siena. The initiative aims to ensure access to medicines for individuals and families facing economic hardship, covering, through community donations, the cost of prescribed medications that are not reimbursed by the National Health Service.
Beneficiaries are identified based on specific criteria, including residence in the Municipality of Siena, the need for non-over-the-counter medications, and financial difficulty. The assessment is carried out through direct interviews, dedicated forms, and referrals from Social Services, Federfarma, and volunteer associations. Support is provided either through direct purchase of the medication or reimbursement upon presentation of the receipt and prescription.
Through this initiative, the VisMederi Foundation reaffirms its commitment to projects that combine research, health, and social responsibility, helping to create a positive impact in the local community and supporting the most vulnerable individuals.
“Supporting the Farmaco Sospeso project means actively participating in a network of solidarity that places the individual and the right to healthcare at the center. As a Foundation, we believe it is essential to translate the values of research and innovation into concrete actions that benefit the community. It is an honor to contribute, together with the Misericordia of Siena, to an initiative that fully reflects our mission of responsibility and social engagement,” stated the Foundation.
