On the occasion of the\u00a025th edition of the International Vaccinology Course, the VisMederi Foundation was pleased to invite\u00a0Dr. Serena Marchi, from the Department of Molecular and Developmental Medicine at the\u00a0University of Siena, to serve as a lecturer. The Foundation has already had several opportunities to collaborate with Dr. Marchi on scientific initiatives. Dr. Marchi delivered the lecture entitled<em>\u00a0\u201cBeyond National Averages: Reaching Zero-Dose Children and Strengthening Vaccine Confidence. Lessons from Italy\u201d<\/em>, offering participants an insight into the Italian experience in vaccination coverage, the identification of communities that are more difficult to reach, and strategies aimed at strengthening confidence in vaccines. The lecture provided an important opportunity to explore and discuss some of the key challenges facing contemporary vaccinology, starting with the need to ensure equitable access to vaccination and to develop targeted interventions to reach the most vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n<p>Also attending the event was\u00a0Veronica Cannucci, General Director of the VisMederi Foundation, who expressed her appreciation for Dr. Marchi\u2019s scientific contribution and highlighted the value of collaboration between academic institutions and organizations committed to research and public health.
